Instructions
For The Buns
- In a bowl mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Set aside and allow to bloom while you mix the remaining dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
- Once yeast mixture is bubbly (after about 5 minutes), add melted butter and eggs. Give a quick mix.
- Add half the dry mix to the wet and mix in completely before slowly adding more until all incorporated. Allow to rest 10-15 minutes. Dough will be really sticky. You can add more flour if you want, but it will make for a more dry bun.
- Split your doe into balls, shape your buns, and place on a cookie sheet. I do 6 large buns, but you could probably do about 8 normal buns or 18 sliders. Brush the tops with a whipped up egg (optional) and allow buns to rise in a warm place for 30 or so minutes.
- Bake buns at 350°F for 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool a bit before slicing and preparing your burger.
For The Patties
- Mash beans with a potato masher. Some bean chunks are desirable for texture but they need to be mashed enough that they'll stick together somewhat.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix well. With the oat flour, start with a 1/4 cup and add more if you feel the mix is a bit runny.
- Form your patties and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. I make 6 large patties.
- Bake in the oven at 375°F for 20 minutes. Add all your favorite fixings, serve with homemade fries and enjoy!
