Instructions
  1. In a food processor, mix the flour, butter, sugar, & salt until well incorporated.
  2. Add the egg and 1/4 cup water and mix again before pouring into a bowl. If the mix is still a little dry, add a little bit more water, about 1-2 tbs at a time until a ball can be formed.
  3. Wrap ball of dough in plastic and place in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
  4. Divide dough into 2 balls to make it easier to work with, and on a floured surface, roll out dough very thinly. With a knife, cut out your pop tart rectangles (about 3X4 inches).
  5. Place each rectangle on a cookie sheet, drop and spread about a tablespoon of preserves on each square. Cover with another square and seal the edges with a fork. Remember to also poke a few steam holes in the top.
  6. Brush the tops with a beaten egg and bake in the oven for 20 minutes at 350°F
  7. Eat warm and plain, or allow to cool and prepare powdered sugar glaze. Enjoy!
